The Criteria of Evaluation in e-health: a Scoping Review of Literature

The purpose of this research is to create an overview of the existing literature on the e-health evaluation and to identify, categorize and analyze the criteria of e-health evaluation in order to inform the policy makers, practitioners and researchers. A scoping literature review on the criteria of e-health evaluation was conducted. Two sets of keywords were searched in databases: e-health (and synonyms) and evaluation (and synonyms). The criteria of selection include 1) articles published in top journals with high impact factor 2) conducting an empiric study on e-health evaluation. 3) written in English. A conceptual framework on technology evaluation is used to classify existing health IT evaluations into organizational (macro) level and individual (micro) level. In addition to revealing the complexity of e-health evaluation, this article has spotted the gap of « market evaluation » in health IT in the existing literature
