Discrete-Event Simulation Modelling Trials in Government Hospital: Preliminary Evidence from the Women and Children Hospital Sabah

The application of Discrete-Event Simulation (DES) in hospital settings has been growing significantly in developing countries like Malaysia as the general premise behind these studies is that such simulation models may be used to support the hospital such as the Emergency Department (ED) in planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and predicting their demanding processes, i.e., operational, clinical and financial.
