The application of Discrete-Event Simulation (DES) in hospital settings has been growing significantly in developing countries like Malaysia as the general premise behind these studies is that such simulation models may be used to support the hospital such as the Emergency Department (ED) in planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and predicting their demanding processes, i.e., operational, clinical and financial. The primary purpose of this paper is to present the preliminary outcomes of the DES trials that has taken place at the Accident & Trauma Department, Women and Children Hospital Sabah, Kota Kinabalu. The DES trials have evolved around the high fever patient waiting and services times
