Green IT has been widely discussed in both technical and administrative areas. A major gap that exists in the Green IT literature today is the absence of a theoretical framework. Such framework can be used to assist organisations in assessing their capability to undertake Green IT to support the firm’s competitive advantage. This study attempts to bridge this gap by developing and proposing an integrative framework which focuses on IS resources and capabilities as the antecedent for higher order Green IT capability.
