Biometric technologies have been developed for authentication and verification of individuals. However, expectations of substantial growth in biometric technologies have not been realised. User-acceptance of biometric technologies represents a significant stumbling block to growth. While it is understood that there are different user concerns creating barriers for the industry, the prioritisation of these concerns and how they have changed over time is unclear. This research investigates the changes in attitudes in both the general user and professional user categories that have occurred over the period 1998-2002.
