Some of villages (Bystřec, Dolní Chlévské) founded in the colonized upland territories in the Middle Ages were damaged by floods soon after their foundation. A question is raised whether the demolition of farmhouses due to high waters relates to the impact of deforestation and agricultural cultivation of soil, or whether it had to do with the climatic changes as often considered today.
