This spring, librarians at USM’s Gulf Coast Library formed a partnership with the Academic Success Center (ASC) to determine if collaboration increased student interest in workshops. Located within the library, the ASC provides one on one student tutoring. Prior to 2019, the ASC and the Library offered citation style workshops separately. Collaboration offers increased PR, student-centered workshops and revamped instruction material. The ASC’s common space presents a more relaxed classroom setting, providing options to offer students snacks, adjusted instruction time and other perks.
