Although the major types of non-skin cancer among men are prostate cancer, lung cancer, and colorectal cancer, prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among men. In 2009, there were 192,280 new cases of prostate cancer and 27,360 deaths from this disease in the USA. It has been suggested that there is a disparity in the incidence and recognition of prostatic cancer between African-American males and Caucasian-American males [1].
