The paper summarizes results of microcystin analyses in drinking waters in the Czech Republic. Microcystins were detected in 36% of samples collected in 1999-2005 from 40 drinking water treatment plants. Microcystins were detected in 27% of samples of treated water and 9% of samples had concentrations of microcystins above 1 mug/L (i.e. higher than hygienic limit for microcystin-LR). The maximal detected concentration of microcystin in treated water reached up to 7.8 mug/L
