The aim of this article is to take a closer look at the post-war development of Czech-Sorbian and German-Sorbian relations. Emphasis is placed upon the attitudes of the former GDR toward the Sorbian minority and above all toward the Sorbian National Movement immediately following the Second World War, which is tied to the attempts to make Lusatia a part of the Czechoslovak state
