There are uncountable many options to connect offshore wind turbines within the collector system. The importance of an optimal cable size and layout is clear considering the large investments that are required to connect a string of wind turbines to the substation and the resulting cable losses and the reliability that is determined by its design. The objective of this work is to optimize the cable size for a given offshore wind farm considering the power losses and the costs. This is done by using a multi-objective function and finding the optimal point of the Pareto-front.
