The usage of large amounts of cement to build livestock structures is a common practice. In the past few years, different research projects have been carried out with new cement mixtures, reinforced with natural fibres of vegetal origin, in order to reduce concrete's excess and, thus, reducing pollution in the manufacturing processes as well as maintaining, or even improving, the physical, mechanical and chemical properties of the concrete.
