A majority of studies on the brain are focused at either the molecular level or organ level. Rarely do we see models that attempt to relate neuronal behaviors to symptoms of traumatic brain injury. Well-documented studies of the electrophysiology of the neuron provide the opportunity to examine the effects of traumatic brain injury via the integration of computational mechanics and mathematical models of the neuron.
