This paper describes a set of procedures for computing secondary patterns of parabolic-reflector antennas. Once the primary feed radiation pattern is defined, aperture-plane fields are computed for a grid of points using a geometrical approximation (Local Plane Wave Reflection) . The secondary pattern is found by means of integration of these fields. Two ways for carrying out this calculation, a direct summation and an interpolationbased method, have been considered. Possible symetries and equiphase feed pattern are taken into account for reducing computation time. The process implicitly includes spillover losses. Both copolar and crosspolar patterns can be obtained. Aperture blocking in considered as geometrical shadow.Peer Reviewe
