The use of seaweed has increased notoriously since 1990's. Its main application is its utilization as a biofilter, since it has a great ability to capture nutrients from water, being useful in the treatment of effluents from aquaculture facilities and offering the possibility integrating its culture in recirculated systems. Moreover, they add an additional value to the aquaculture as a by-product, since it has a wide range of uses. The hydrodynamics of different models of tanks was analyzed. Two of them have a system that operates by water flow input, generating a inlet impulse force on a curved surface which keeps in suspension and in a rotational movement.
