In this project we studied if there is a difference between the time of germination between seeds of Digitaria sanguinalis and Ustilago syntherismae spores. Knowing the offset time between them we could design an experiment that would allow view infective hyphae penetrating the plant tissues. Two initial experiments that concluded that is necessary first planting the smut spores and then after 24 hours the seeds of the crabgrass were performed. Once the offset time was established different experiments were made: The firsts experiments, based on Ingold method (1983), were to make a sowing in Petri dishes with malt agar 0,2% on that fungal spores were inoculated and above the agar the plant seeds were sown on which coverage diluted malt agar...
