Densifying the Macro-cellular network by deploying Pico eNodeBs with CRE to enhance system performance and meet future expected demands.[ANGLÈS] Deploying low power nodes within a macro cell layout, also known as heterogeneous networks (HetNets), is a promising solution to enhance the global performance of LTE mobile communication systems and particularly the performance in cell-edges and indoor areas. In this sense, Range expansion (RE) in low power nodes is mandatory in areas not covering hotspots, otherwise there is no significant offload from the macro cell and gains are poor. This technique allows attracting more users and thus achieving performance improvement. However, RE causes extra downlink interference which becomes severe for hi...
