Two ethylene-propylene copolymers differing in ethylene content and crystallinity were used as compatibilizers in blends of high-density polyethylene and isotactic polypropylene. The results suggest that the amorphous compatibilizer is superior to the other copolymer. It forms an interphase between the polyethylene and polypropylene domains thus improving the interfacial adhesion and material toughness
