Long Term Probabilistic Hydrothermal Scheduling of Electrical Generation

Donada una xarxa elèctrica alimentada per centrals hidràuliques i tèrmiques, es tracta de presentar una metodologia basada en l'ús de programació dinàmica utilitzant descomposició espacial, amb part de les variables probabilistes, per a obtenir per a cadascun dels intervals en què hom descomposa un cert període llarg de temps, les decàrregues d'aigua de cada embassament susceptibles de minimitzar el cost esperat de la producció d'origen tèrmic al llarg del període de temps considerat. Prèviament cal haver obtingut per a cada interval una funció de variació de cost respecte a la producció total hidràulica mitjançant un programa de costos probabilístics.Given an electrical power system fed by hydro and thermal power plants, it is presented in this paper a methodology based on dynamic programing using spatial decomposition and being part of the variables probabilistic, to obtain for each of the intervals in which a long period of time is divided, those water discharges at each reservoir that minimise the expected cost of the thermal power generation along the long period of time under study. Previously a function of the thermal generation cost versus the amount of hydro power generation must be obtained for each time interval by means of a probabilistic production cost program. The grounds and justification of the methodology employed are exposed, and the data, results, and computational requirements of an application to a practical case are given
