This paper uses an analytical model of sound transmission through an aperture for the study of the performance of an active control of sound inside the enclosure to prevent the transmission of sound through an aperture placed in the enclosure wall, by comparing different active control strategies for the particular case of the low modal sound field. The results indicate that a global active control inside the enclosure is not enough to reduce the sound transmission through an aperture, but also that a practical approach consists of cancelling the pressure at the center of the plane of the aperture, thus ensuring satisfactory results.Peer Reviewe
