Medium access control (MAC) protocols can improve the burst/packet delivery rate in optical burst-switched (OBS) networks. In this letter, the delay analysis of slotted OBS under the use of the DAOBS MAC protocol is proposed. The correctness of the analysis has been assessed through simulation, showing that it achieves a good approximation on different networks despite the operational complexity of the protocol.Peer Reviewe
