MEMO No CFD/MECHA-23-2012 DATE: November 15, 2012Abstract: An assessment of the SST k−ω turbulence model is made using different freestream values for k and ω. A flow over a flat plate at high Reynolds numbers is used as a test case. Main result: A modification to reduce the effect of free-stream turbulence quantities on the SST k−ω turbulence model is tested. It is found out that the method in some situations removed the effect of the free-stream values, but is not as effective at high Reynolds numbers
