In my bachelor thesis I focus on the significance of small and medium-sized enterprices business making within both the European Union and the Czech Republic. The legislature regulating the support of small and medium-sized enterprices is noted along with the institutions providing financial support in a form of various grants. The support of small and medium-sized enterprices is elaborated on both European and national scale. The essence of the work is the analysis of mutual interactions of small and medium-sized enterprices making and factors of the regional development, which influence the regional competitive advantage
