Indo-Myanmar Relations with the Emphasis on India's Foreign Policy towards Myanmar since 1990

The objective of this thesis is to provide the reader with the information about the change of the foreign policy of India towards Myanmar in the nineties and with the consequences of this change. The historical, cultural, political and economic factors which influenced the development of relations between the two countries and forced India to reassess the priorities of its foreign policy, were analyzed. It provides an overview of different forms of economic cooperation between the two countries. The troubled Northeast Indian region, where separatist groups operate, is also discussed. The last part deals with the Indo-Myanmar cooperation in this area and their cooperation in South and Southeast Asia in general
