International comparison of social indicators of the Czech Republic after joining the European Union (2005 - 2008)

Bachelor's thesis focuses on international comparisons of selected social indicators for the period 2005 - 2008. Attention is given to the Open method of coordination, Laeken indicators - their methodology and data sources and procedures, which monitor the social situation within the EU. The main part of the thesis compares selected laeken indicators internationally and over time. These indicators are compared: poverty, poverty rates before and after the transfers, the coefficient of income inequality, the Gini coefficient and the rate of long-term unemployment. The new economic strategy for 2020 is briefly mentioned in the text.
