The development of the role of the presidency of EC/EU on the example of France

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the role and functions of the presidency and to demonstrate the development of its importance and competence on the example of France in the context of its twelve presidencies. The thesis is composed of the theoretical part describing the functions of the presidency and then an example of France and its presidencies from 1959 to 2008 is given to trace up the basic priorities of France in the process of development of European integration
