Political parties in Slovakia between 1989 and 2006 and their impact on the civil society

The primary goal of this thesis is the analysis of the party system and civil society in Slovakia between 1989 and 2006 (when the last parliamentary elections were held), their dynamics and mutual influence. The collapse of the Communist regime started the process of democratization and the emergence of a new party system, which sparked the birth of Slovakian society. In addition to that, the process of democratization was significantly affected by the break of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic. The thesis is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter, the reader is acquired with the theoretical aspects of the issue. The second chapter forms the core of the work and analyzes the individual results of parliamentary elections and the newly emerging political parties. In the last third chapter the author on the silhouette of the previous chapter's findings analyzes the systemic changes in civil society in Slovakia during the given period
