El siguiente trabajo toma como objeto de estudio el retrato de Manuelita de Rosas, de Prilidiano Pueyrredón (1851), ubicado en el Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, y su copia realizada por Rafael Domingo del Villar (1933), situada en el Museo Histórico Nacional. El análisis se centra en los debates que se dieron sobre la ubicación legítima de la pieza original. En las discusiones, ambas instituciones se empeñaron en definir si primaban las cualidades históricas o las estéticas sobre el retrato de Manuelita. La comparación entre los modos de emplazamiento que propone cada museo intentará esclarecer y/o poner en tensión cómo y de qué manera se resalta el status de obra de arte y de documento, respectivamente.The following paper focuses on the p...
