Regional elections - Karlovy Vary region case study

This thesis deals with the analysis of regional elections 2008 in Karlovy Vary region. It becomes a general rule, that the regional elections are taken as the elections of inferior degree, where voters vote primarily against the government. In my thesis, I put myself a question up to which extent the previous statement holds true. It has been shown, that regional policy can have also very important influence on the result of elections. Poeple was not satisfied by their governing regional politics and gave a green card to smaller parties. It resulted in the fact, that Karlovy Vary region has six parties (the most from the whole country) in regional council
