Climate change and social sciences: an introduction

A problemática das mudanças climáticas começa a receber atenção da parte dos cientistas sociais. Nos últimos anos os relatórios do International Panel for Climate Change (IPCC) têm despertado o interesse de governos, empresas e vários setores sobre questões que envolvem capacidade de adaptação, vulnerabilidade e mitigação de efeitos danosos decorrentes da mudança climática global. Esse texto pretende discutir como diferentes setores governamentais e da sociedade civil estão construindo iniciativas coletivas voltados para o enfrentamento da problemática das mudanças climáticas.The issue of climate change is getting greater attention from social scientists. Lately, IPCC reports have raised concerns among the government, enterprises and other sectors about adaptation, vulnerability and mitigation of the damaging effects produced by the global climate change.
