This research was conducted based on the problems faced by the students in learning English especially in reading narrative text.The writer found that the students still had difficulties in comprehending the reading text especially in narrative text. This research aimed at finding out whether there is or not significant difference in students’ reading comprehension of narrative text between taught without using One-Word Summaries Strategy and taught by using it. In this case, the writer provided One-Word Summaries Strategy to help students’ reading comprehension of narrative text.
