ANALISIS SEMIOTIK UNSUR BULLYING PADA FILM ANIMASI ZOOTOPIA

This research discusses about bullying elements on Zootopia seen from signs and signifiers. The research problem is how bullying elements on animation film Zootopia is. The objective of the research is to know bullying elements on Zootopia. Data is obtained from observation and documentation. This research uses qualitative approach and semiotic method of Roland Barthes. This research chooses animation film titled Zootopia produced by Walt Disney as the object of research. This research concludes that there are bullying elements on Zootopia observed through denotation and connotation. There are verbal bullying and physical bullying on the eleven scenes of the film. Physical bullying is represented by striking, pushing, throwing with things. Verbal bullying is represented by jokes which are filled with insult, snap, and scream. Film, in its development, is not only used for entertainment but also it is used for propaganda instrument, especially for national and social goal.
