Background: Centella asiatica (CA) extracts is proven to be beneficial for wound healing treatment as the active constituent which are asiaticoside, madecassoside and asiatic acid possesses several medicinal effects such as antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. However, too much CA can cause severe side effect. Objective: In order to overcome the limitation, the efficacy of CA extract can be increased by using a suitable drug carrier such as polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and chitosan (CS). Methodology: Methanolic extraction of CA was done by using maceration method by solvent methanol/water with ratio (9:1).
