Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Dissertation wurden verschiedene Laserverfahren zur industriellen Fertigung von kristallinen Siliziumsolarzellen angewandt und untersucht. Diese beinhalten vor allem die selektive Ablation von Silizium sowie auf die entsprechenden Oberflächen abgeschiedenen dünnen Schichten aus Dielektrika , Lacken oder Metallen, die Legierung von Metallen in den Halbleiter sowie das selektive Dotieren von Halbleitermaterial. Alle Prozesse wurden zuerst mit unterschiedlichen experimentellen Verfahren charakterisiert und abschließend auf verschiedenen Solarzellenstrukturen qualifiziert
