Hyperglycemia is a representative symptom of diabetes mellitus. Recent studies demonstrated that osteoporotic fracture risk and serum sclerostin level is increased in diabetic patients. However, the molecular mechanism how sclerostin expression is enhanced in diabetic patients remains elusive.
