Among emotional factors, anxiety is known to have the most strong effects on performance in sports events. Moreover, the degree of motor performance largely depends upon that of arousal level that serves to counteract anxiety or stress. The purpose of present study is to examine and analyze the anxiety degree and arousal level which have been thought to have powerful influence upon almost all the outcomes of all sports events. In this study, various concepts of anxiety, stress and arousal level are discussed, and the interrelationship among these three factors and performance is carefully examined.
