Add to ORKGThis thesis tries to study the change of women "body project" discourse in 190~ 1920s. Social Darwinism, surgical operation, vaccine inoculation for smallpox and cholera, a sanitary police system introduced into Choseon(朝鮮) from the West in the early 20th century changed the attitude toward body. These caused changes in the traditional thoughts that to train the spirit was more important than to train the body. Such an attitude towards body also influenced the system of discourses in academic journals. In 1900~1910s, women body was very important for the foundation of nation-state.
