In recent years, the need for various types of dictionaries has greatly increased. Dictionnaire Explicatif et Combinatoire(DEC) is a special dictionary which was designed and has been compiled by I. A. Mel'čuk and his colleagues in Université de Montreal. This dictionary purports to represent native speakers' lexical knowledge in entirety, and is famous for its rigorous principles and criteria for describing this knowledge. Especially, definition, syntactic properties, and collocational properties of lexical items are presented explicitly and carefully.
