A variety of surgical procedures are used in the treatment of esophageal cancer. These procedures include transthoracic esophagectomy (Ivor Lewis procedure, McKeown procedure, left thoracoabdominal approach), transhiatal esophagectomy, and various forms of bypass surgery.
