With the rapid increase of number of people having a camera smartphone, visible light communication (VLC) as a form of short range communication over screen-camera link emerges as a viable option. However, the reliability of the transmission is affected by several factors: the environment at which the transmission is taking place, camera performances, human factors such as trembling and the lack of a feedback channel. A recent work, RDCode, was designed to improve the transmission reliability but also has its own set of disadvantages.
