This is a theoretical framework of dissertation. I use the two important scenarios/ scales in the realm of international relations theories—"conflict" and "cooperation"— applying to realist and liberals' views and theses to argue that both of scenarios could coexist in the environment of China's rise. I also examine the characteristics of Chinese power through the extensive discussions of "status quo power" and "revisionist power" to profile its strategies and what the determinant variables could lead to its conflictual or cooperative propensity.Master of Science (International Relations
