To find the best solution for a vehicle in concept phase, fast implementation of virtual models are essential. These model can reveal information about cost, weight and mechanical properties of components. In this thesis a mathematical model is developed and analyzed for different composite materials and structure with topological variations. In this thesis an efficient optimization technique, layerwise optimization algorithm is used to determine the optimal laminate sequence based on classical laminate theory. The mathematical model was generated using commercial software Matlab. The mathematical model developed is user friendly and interactive.
