Nowadays, spectrum access of the wireless networks is generally regulated by governments via a fixed spectrum assignment policy. However, the tremendous increase in the spectrum access of the wireless technologies challenges the limited spectrum bands. Since cognitive radio enables users to detect and transmit over the temporarily unused spectrum bands, it is seen as one of the revolutionary techniques for better spectrum utilization in the future.
