Braced excavations are normally modeled using two-dimension analysis. The assumption for this analysis is that the length of the excavation is infinitely long. Thus, it does not take into account of the length of the excavation. However, this analysis may not be totally correct when compared with the actual excavation that is being carried at the site itself. The difference may be quite significant when the length of the excavation is short.
