In an earlier investigation [3], battery charging strategy under floating-charge had shown to have an effect on the performance and lifetime of lead-acid battery. The present project is aimed to discover and understand the effects of different charging methods on the performance and lifetime of lead-acid battery. An approach to determine the relationship between different types of charger has on the performance and lifetime of the battery is described. Two brand new lead-acid batteries are charged by the two types of chargers. The approach will obtain the charging and discharging profiles of the batteries through three laboratory tests.
