This project demonstrates a triple mode (sensing, imaging and phase shift measurement) set up using surface plasmon resonance (SPR) based senor and optical fiber. Kretschmann prism is used as the SPR sensor and an optical fiber based probe system with high resolution to transmit the image to the CCD camera. In order to obtain optimal results for SPR, parameter like gold thickness and dielectric constant for the dye layer were investigated. Matlab results suggest that gold thickness affects the refractive index resolution and optimal thickness can bring the reflectance dropped to near zero.
