This study has been undertaken with the objective of identifying the difficulties successors facing during the succession period, the possible reasons why these difficulties arise and how the successors may overcome these problems. In addition, the successors’ views on preparing for the future succession of their business are also included. This research aims to help both successors and founders identify the potential difficulties successors may face upon succession and to help them learn to manage them. It is hoped that this research will spark off an interest in this area of study, particularly in Singapore.ACCOUNTANC
