Breve genealogia e anatomia del concetto di habitus

In this essay, Loïc Wacquant proposes a clarification of the concept of habitus, correcting some recurring misunderstandings. First, he briefly sketches the genealogy of the notion, pointing out its philosophical origins, and hinting at its use among some classical social science thinkers. Then, the author conducts a dissection of the habitus in the work of Pierre Bourdieu, and accurately reconstructs its anatomy, also referring to his own ethnographic research experience.In questo saggio Loïc Wacquant propone una messa a punto del concetto di habitus, correggendone alcuni fraintendimenti ricorrenti. In un primo momento ricostruisce brevemente la genealogia della nozione mettendone in luce le origini filosofiche e accennando all'uso fattone da alcuni classici delle scienze sociali. In seguito l'autore svolge una dissezione dell'habitus all'interno dell'opera di Pierre Bourdieu e ne ricostruisce puntualmente l'anatomia, riferendosi anche alla propria esperienza di ricerca etnografica
