The biblical narration has also a sociobiological and anthropological background. For this reason the Torah can be seen as the description of the historical-evolutionary path of the Jewish people and society, as well as of the construction of Jewish identity. In the difficult living conditions of the Jews along the history, the Torah was able to direct the social and cultural mechanisms imposed by the need to adapt to foreigner religious and political contexts.
