In picosatellites, significant fraction of mass, volume, and majority of its power are consumed by the communication subsystems. Hence, the design of the communication subsystems is vital to the overall satellite and mission plans. Antenna is the key component of the satellite communication system. In this report, monopole antenna with the operating frequency of 2.4GHz will explored for the development of the CubeSat. This report introduces the basic knowledge of CubeSat and antenna parameters. The antenna‟s dimension is determined through theoretical calculations and the different monopole antenna designs are presented.
