56 p.In this dissertation, time-reversal focusing has been designed for human computer interface applications by exploiting the ultra-wideband (UWB) electromagnetic waves. In contrast, traditional inverse scattering techniques are limited by the diffraction limit on their ability to resolve geometrical features. In addition, frequency-domain inverse techniques are affected from the particular properties of the medium for each different realization. UWB signals that can be used to improve detection capabilities combat some scattering problems. They can lead to statistically stable imaging techniques that depend only on the statistical properties of the random medium.
